Multi-disciplinary cosmetic and skin care experts, Skin Institute, had outgrown their small administration office, housed in a converted historic house in Takapuna. They had new contractors coming on board with no place for them. There were no meeting rooms and the marketing team was working out of their clinc across the road.
The company was growing - it exploded in size - from 1 clinic to 18 nationally, 150 staff and 32 doctors. It became more and more difficult to manage their people working in different places. They needed new offices, big enough to bring all their management and administration teams together into one space. Malcolm & Sumner were appointed to space plan their new national head office including concept layout planning and preparing fit-out and joinery construction drawings and documentation. The space that Skin Institute located had a combination of existing offices and open areas which could be adapted to suit their needs. Chief Executive, Chris Gillan, said "our goal was to find office space that was large enough to grow into and enable us to create a National Head Office identity and define our team spirit. We had the extra space that we needed to take on new projects." "We moved a bit in our planning from where we first started - Diane helped us with our ideas. She gave us good suggestions when we were off beam. M & S are knowledgeable and have a good network of contacts."
