The Seventh Day Adventist Church Head Office had been sharing premises with another church entity for 11 years. As tenants, it was difficult to organise the space and make changes to the premises to suit themselves.
The administration office for NZ & the South Pacific needed meeting spaces for larger numbers and wanted the flexibility to accommodate future activities that they might pursue and develop over time. The design of the old building prohibited them to achieve their strategic goals. Owning their premises was a good investment. It allowed them to start with a clean slate and design the right space for their requirements and future needs. Malcolm & Sumner were responsible for the space planning and contract management of the project including overseeing the fit-out, supervising the base building upgrade and furniture procurement. Graeme Drinkall, Chief Financial Officer, said as we are a church, we are scrutinised on how much we spend. No one has commented on spending too much money. Our budget included investing in the base building services and upgrading the telephony systems. Both will reduce our running costs and long term overheads." "Having an architect that designed, project managed and saw the project through to completion, gave us peace of mind. We were comfortable with this approach and the process was seamless and trouble free. Diane and her contractors provided a good quality job, on time and on budget."
