Maxxium New Zealand, international wine and spirits importer, had outgrown their existing office and personal workspace was becoming a real issue. Meetings were held off-site at considerable expense, as meeting rooms were a rare commodity and in increasing demand.
Growing into the space Maxxium had sublet for a short term, meant they were able to implement their expansion plan without relocating premises and minimising disruption to their business. The renovation provided the teams with a more spacious and organised work environment. The new boardroom catered for their growing sales team and product samples were displayed more effectively. A larger, funky staff area which doubles as a client entertainment space was also part of the brief. We were asked to plan the changes and manage the entire process including overseeing the fit-out alterations and office reconfiguration. Supply Chain Manager, George Patterson, referred to the office environment as being not too dissimilar to the Auckland housing crisis and the use of in-fill housing! "We had used the design services of Malcolm & Sumner before and what they had done was perfect for us, considering the size of Maxxium, with a little growth in mind."
